About NOVA
Now in its thirty-first year of broadcasting, NOVA is produced for PBS by the WGBH Science Unit. The director of the WGBH Science Unit and Senior Executive Producer of NOVA is Paula S. Apsell. Major funding for NOVA is provided by the Park Foundation, Sprint, and Microsoft. Additional funding is provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and public television viewers. NOVA revolves around a simple premise: that science is neither secret lore nor sacred ritual but rather, at its heart, curious people exploring interesting questions. Each week, viewers are invited to come along for a journey of discovery and good storytelling. NOVA explores the science behind the headlines, along the way demystifying science and technology . . . and highlighting the human side of the people "who make science happen." In addition to its broadcast programming, NOVA expands the reach of each program with additional content on its award-winning Web site, www.pbs.org/nova.
